The multi-crore DLF metro project that has been hanging fire for over six months now might be revived with the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) from private companies under an open bidding system.
HUDA has asked interested companies to apply by December 10 for the purpose and has also raised a demand of Rs 200 crore as “connectivity charges” from the company that would get the contract.
The proposed line would be an extension from the Sikanderpur Metro station till NH-8 through DLF City II, III and DLF Cybercity.
Last year, real estate major DLF had announced its plan to begin its own Metro rail as a feeder service to the Delhi-Gurgaon Metro line being constructed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for providing better connectivity, after the DMRC opened doors for private developers opting for Metro connectivity. Work was to begin early this year, with designs and plans for the 3.5-km long Metro stretch project ready on time. The project has, however, been grounded for months now as DLF authorities are still awaiting approval from the HUDA over line alignment.
